Sunday Morning Worship: The Good Goodbye: How We've Grown

  • Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church 809 Oak Ridge Turnpike Oak Ridge, TN, 37830 United States (map)

This Sunday, join us in person or on Zoom for morning worship and our new series, the Good Goodbye. The sermon title is, "How We've Grown." Rev. Jake Morrill and Rev. Tandy Scheffler will be leading worship.

At the end of June, Lead Minister Rev. Jake Morrill will be leaving ORUUC after 19 years of ministry with us; he's stepping away to spend more time with family, and to focus on writing, organizational coaching, and life. Rev. Tandy Scheffler, our minister of Care and Connection, will be retiring after 25 years with ORUUC. We welcome you to be part of this Good Goodbye time with us.

As we begin the “Good Goodbye” series in Jake and Tandy’s final weeks with ORUUC, this Sunday brings the first of their dialogues on a topic related to saying goodbye. For today, the focus of their conversation is “How We’ve Grown,” in which they’ll talk about how ministry has helped each of them grow, and how congregational life in community is always an invitation to grow.

In-person worship begins at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary. The service will also be streamed live on Zoom for those who wish to participate from home or wherever you may be.

Our Faith Formation classes take place from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15. p.m. To find out more about our classes, visit our website: http://www.oruuc.org/religious-education and http://www.oruuc.org/faith-formation-for-adults.
