Sunday Morning Worship: The Soul’s Beautiful Affliction

  • Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church 809 Oak Ridge Turnpike Oak Ridge, TN, 37830 United States (map)

Most human beings seek the good, and yearn like a plant towards the light. But the light casts dark shadows, and no matter how hard we strive to do right, perfection is impossible. Brokenness is inevitable. We are sometimes made to endure others’ misdeeds, and we are often implicated in the wounding of others. How do we find forgiveness, and reconciliation? The ancient Jewish sages designed Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, as a pathway back to wholeness. Interim Minister Rev. Lisa Romantum Schwartz will explore how we welcome ourselves, and each other, into wholeness.

Join us Sunday morning for our September worship series: "Welcome." Worship begins at 10 a.m. in person and on Zoom.
