Sunday Morning Worship: Incarnation

  • Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church 809 Oak Ridge Turnpike Oak Ridge, TN, 37830 United States (map)

This Sunday, join us for our December worship series, Presence. Our minister, Lóre Stevens, will lead worship with a sermon titled, “Incarnation.”

In the holiday season, we may hear a lot about “incarnation.” What does it mean for each of us to be part of the universe or the divine incarnate? How can our embodiment and our community be paths towards spiritual liberation?

Worship begins at 10 a.m. in person and on Zoom. For those attending worship by Zoom, please install the Zoom app on your device and use Zoom Worship Service Meeting ID: 946 8973 5846.

Our Split-the-Plate offering recipient for the month of December will go to the Free Medical Clinic. This non-profit organization offers free medical services to those who live in Anderson, Roane, and Morgan Counties, serving people who do not have insurance and cannot afford to pay for medical services due to their income level. Because it is a primarily volunteer organization, it relies on donations from individuals, churches, and community groups. This clinic provides medical care to those who have no other resources–it can literally mean the difference between life and death for some people. We all deserve adequate health care and to be treated with worth and dignity. Please GIVE HERE as you are willing and able, or text “ORUUC” to 73256.

After worship, join us for our annual holiday Soup Potluck in the Social Hall! Bring a soup to share—but don’t worry if you can’t or don’t—there should be plenty. There will be no Youth Faith Formation classes today, but there WILL be OWL classes and adult classes during Faith Formation hour (11:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.). Another ORUUC tradition begins at noon: Cocoa and Caroling! The nursery will be available during worship and the Faith Formation hour. Check out our regular Faith Formation opportunities for adults here: http://www.oruuc.org/faith-formation-for-adults and children and youth here: http://www.oruuc.org/religious-education.

Covid-19 Update: Masks are not required in the building; whether joining us for worship in person or on Zoom, we encourage everyone to do what makes them feel comfortable.

All are welcome! We look forward to seeing you!
