Sunday Morning Worship: The Good Goodbye: Anticipation

  • Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church 809 Oak Ridge Turnpike Oak Ridge, TN, 37830 United States (map)

This Sunday, join us in person or on Zoom for our morning worship series, the Good Goodbye. The sermon title is “Sweet Anticipation.”

At the end of June, Lead Minister Rev. Jake Morrill will be leaving ORUUC after 19 years of ministry with us; he's stepping away to spend more time with family, and to focus on writing, organizational coaching, and life. Rev. Tandy Scheffler, our minister of Care and Connection, will be retiring after 25 years with ORUUC.

Continuing the Good Goodbye dialogue series, this Sunday, Jake and Tandy will take up an often-unexplored aspect of saying goodbye: the anticipation of what's next. Jake and Tandy will talk about their own anticipation for the next chapter in their lives and will propose some aspects of excitement they've heard and can imagine for ORUUC, coming up.

In-person worship begins at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary. The service will also be streamed live on Zoom for those who wish to participate from home or wherever you may be.

There will be no Youth Faith Formation classes this Sunday. Adult Faith Formation classes take place from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15. p.m. To find out more about our classes, visit our website: http://www.oruuc.org/religious-education and http://www.oruuc.org/faith-formation-for-adults.
